Executive Director | She, Her, Hers
Hannah Groos (she, Her, Hers) serves as the Executive Director of IowaSLI for the 2020-2021 school year and is currently a Junior at Norwalk High School. Hannah has been a part of IowaSLI for three years, and served as the Events Director until this summer. She hopes to use her role in the organization to create a community of youth, educators, and community leaders from across Iowa who create student-driven solutions to educational issues.
Throughout her life, Hannah has been inspired to use her voice to help others find theirs. She started Girls Who Code at her school, which teaches and empowers girls to use coding to impact their communities, and was also part of a full student council remodel, which created a new structure that empowers all students at Norwalk to improve their school experience. Hannah is always finding new ways to create communities of innovation that empower youth to look critically at their schools and communities and equip them with the tools and support to address issues they experience. Recognizing the importance of student voices, Hannah also serves as the student member on the State Board of Education. She uses her position to push for student voice in education at the state level and include students in the process of shifting education during the pandemic.
