The Iowa Student Learning Institute is less than two days away! Again, the conference is scheduled for Saturday, November 8th from 10-4 at Waukee High School. Here's some info you should know before next Saturday:
The day will kick off promptly at 10 AM in the auditorium. Please plan your arrival at Waukee High School to allow time for check in to receive your t-shirt and name tag.The table will be open starting at 8:30. You do not need any printed tickets from Eventbrite. Dress casually.
The only thing we recommend bringing is a device (cell phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) This will enable you to be a part of the #IowaSLI back channel on Twitter, check the schedule and updates throughout the day, and keep notes of your learning.
A free deli lunch consisting of a water/soda, sliced meat sandwich, fruit, chips, and a cookie is provided as part of your registration. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know.
There is major construction at the intersection of University Avenue & Alices Road near Waukee High School that has traffic down to one lane each direction. While the traffic cones are intimidating, this will not affect your travel time. Parking will be located on the west side of the building A map of the parking recommendations can be found here.
Before you arrive, please take a minute to review the conference schedule. You’ll notice that immediately following the keynotes is “EdCamp Session Sign Up.” This is an opportunity for YOU to create the afternoon breakout schedule. Think about what issues in and out of school that you are most passionate about, then, during this time you can create a session to talk about them with other students.
If you are signed up to facilitate a session, there will be a recommended meeting at 9 AM in the library to go through a few details about how the sessions will work. If you are presenting and will be using a projector, please bring your own adaptor for Mac (dongle).
Thank you to our sponsors for allowing ISLI to be as amazing as possible for everyone in attendance. Among many others, a special thank you to INVISION Architecture, Cannon Design, and the Waukee Community School District for their essential support.
If for some reason you will be unable to join us Saturday please let us know in advance so we can adjust our registration numbers.
Thank you for registering and taking advantage of this opportunity. We hope you are as excited as us for a day of learning, solutions, and passion. If you have any questions feel free to contact us.See you on Saturday!
