Event: Iowa Student Learning Institute Date: November 8th, 2014, 10 AM-4 PM Location: Waukee High School, 555 SE University Avenue, Waukee, IA 200 Iowa students, educators, and community leaders will gather to take on education issues at the second annual Iowa Student Learning Institute. The guiding question for IowaSLI 2014 is "Students of Iowa: how can your learning change the world?" The conference will feature keynote addresses by Jeff Herzberg of Prairie Lakes AEA, Iowa activist Zach Wahls, and RAYGUN CEO Mike Draper. Students will also collaborate in breakout sessions to discuss their vision for the future of education and explore ways in which they can improve their schools and communities. IowaSLI participants will leave understanding that students have a critical role in shaping the future of their ever-changing education system, and that there is a world beyond the walls of their school that needs them to take a stand and fight for change. Registration for IowaSLI is free and open to the public through November 5th at The Iowa Student Learning Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to revolutionizing Iowa’s approach to education through the power of student voice.
