The Iowa Student Learning Institute’s RISE conference is less than one week away! Again, the conference is scheduled for Saturday, November 7th from 10-4 at Waukee High School. Here's some info you should know before next Saturday:
Doors will open at 9am with a large team activity led by students happening until the day kick offs at 10 AM in the auditorium. Please plan your arrival at Waukee High School accordingly to allow time for check in to receive your name tag and to network with others.
We recommend bringing a device (cell phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) that will enable you to be a part of the #IaStuChat back channel on Twitter, check updates throughout the day, and keep notes of your learning.
A free deli lunch consisting of a water/soda, sliced meat sandwich, chips, fruit and a cookie is provided as part of your registration. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let me know.
Parking will be located on the west side of the building.
Dress is casual. Whatever you might wear to school on a normal day should be acceptable.
Before you arrive, please take a minute to review the conference schedule. You’ll notice that immediately following the keynotes is “Unconference Session Sign Up.” This is an opportunity for YOU to create the afternoon breakout schedule. This week, think about what you are most passionate about, then, during this time you can create a session to talk about it with other students. There is also a movie screening of the documentary film, Most Likely To Succeed, that will be shown from 4-6pm. We invite you to stay and watch this documentary and enjoy dinner with us afterwards. I believe it will help summarize and reflect upon your day at RISE.
There is still time to invite more of your friends and students! We have extended registration through Friday, November 6th.
Thank you for registering and taking advantage of this opportunity. We hope you are as excited as us for a day of learning, solutions, and passion. If you have any questions feel free to contact me or checkout the website at iowasli.org/details.
See you on Saturday! Remember, the world needs you!
